Pro Bono Activities

We firmly believe that the goal of lawyers is not simply to make a buck, but to work towards improving the system of justice so that all of us may benefit equally. To this end, through non-profit organizations, we provide pro bono legal services to those who are financially unable to hire an attorney to defend themselves. Currently, we are a regular participant in the Domestic Violence Project of the New Jersey Legal Services. We represent in court victims of domestic violence free of charge. We assist in obtaining orders of protection against their abusers.

Chatarpaul Law Firm Pro Bono Project - Domestic Violence Victims, VAWA applicants and Military Members

We recently initiated a project to provide free legal representation to those who cannot afford to pay for an attorney. Currently, our Pro Bono Project includes assisting victims of domestic violence, assisting victims with VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) applications, assisting members of our military.

Military Members

Our soldiers spill their blood, sweat and tears so that we can enjoy freedom and prosperity. We are therefore grateful to these brave men and women. We have recently established a program to assist any member of the military (active or reserve units) in fulfilling some of their legal needs such as assistance with job stability with their employers while on active duty, preparation of wills and other forms of asset transfer, and other similar types of services.
