Our Areas of Practice.

Our practice includes the following types of cases:

(1) Job Discrimination. Both federal law and laws in New Jersey and New York make it unlawful for an employer to terminate, refuse to hire or otherwise discipline an employee on the basis of Age, Race, Color, Sex, Ethnic, National Origin, sexual orientation, marital status, pregnancy, etc. It is not only illegal, but morally wrong. Discrimination is a cancer in our society and must be completely eradicated. If you are a victim of discrimination, you must either contact an attorney as soon as possible, or file a charge with your local EEOC office or your state's office of civil rights. The law generally allows you to recover compensatory damages, punitive damages, damages for emotional harm, attorneys' fees, costs of your lawsuit, etc.

(2) Sexual Harassment. Sexual harassment in the workplace is not just unlawful, but demeaning to the person who is being sexually harassed and could seriously interfere with performance on the job or family relationship. Sexual harassment often results from a boss asking for sexual favors in return for job promotion or even job stability, or could result from sexual innuendoes, sexual comments by supervisors or other employees. Both state and federal laws prevents a boss or superior from engaging in these types of conducts. If you are a victim of sexual harassment, you must either contact an attorney as soon as possible, or file a charge with your local EEOC office or your state's office of civil rights. The law generally allows you to recover compensatory damages, punitive damages, damages for emotional harm, attorneys' fees, costs of your lawsuit, etc.

(3) Civil Rights Violation. Whether its school discrimination, police abuse, wrongful actions by any local government officials, or public employer, refusal to grant any type of city or state licenses, refusal to rent an apartment, refusal of any type of service or sale of goods, both federal and state law prohibits any actions or conducts which violates the federal Constitution, state constitutions or civil rights laws.

(4) Serious Personal Injury and Wrongful Death. We handle cases involving serious personal injury and wrongful death. We define "serious" personal injuries as injuries that leave a person disabled, or loss of any bodily functions or movement. We do not handle cases where a person is injured and then returns to work in a few weeks, These types of cases are normally covered by insurance and are not normally life changing. The types of Wrongful Death cases we handle include any death caused by fault of another person, whether it's a doctor, hospital, or someone facing criminal charges.

(5) Consumer Fraud Violation. The New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act prevents any person or business from defrauding a consumer, or engaging in any fraudulent conduct. This law applies mostly to businesses such as car dealerships, insurance companies, banks, finance companies, hotels, airlines, merchants, mechanics, home improvement contractors, or any other businesses dealing with the public. You are entitled to be dealt with and be treated in an honest and fair manner, and not be victimized by unscrupulous businesses. The law provides for triple damages, attorneys fees, and costs if it is found that the business or person commits a fraudulent act.

(6) Immigration/ Citizenship/Deportation. Virtually all of us in this nation are immigrants, including our parents, grandparents, even our great-great grandparents, and therefore our nation was built by immigrants. Thus, legal immigration is important to our nation's growth and prosperity. We handle family-oriented immigration such as sponsorships by a spouse, parent, child, etc. We also handle citizenship applications, as well as deportation (exclusion) hearings and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and in Federal Courts. Many immigration petitions are relatively simple and uncomplicated. However, if you are confronted with a problem, please contact an attorney, and do not attempt to correct the problem on your own. Sometimes in an effort to save money, more harm is done and in the end more money is spent correcting that wrong.

(7) Insurance Disputes. We handle cases where an insurance company refuses to cover a claim or accident, whether it's a homeowners' policy, life insurance, automobile or business insurance. Insurance companies often disclaim coverage (refuses to pay a claim) on the grounds that notice of a claim or accident was not provided in time, misrepresentation and/or omissions made on the insurance application, or the claim(s) is not covered under the policy. If you are faced with any types of denial of coverage, we may be able to assist you.

(8) Small Business Representation. Small businesses are the driving force in our nation. Entrepreneurship should be encouraged at every possible level, and every avenue should be pursued in making it easier for small businesses to succeed. We can provide assistance in contract disputes, insurance related matters, license renewals, problems with local governmental officials, or even defend you against a lawsuit by larger corporations or local governments.

(9) Criminal Defense Including White Collar Charges. The United States Constitution, our Bill of Rights, as well as most state's constitutions, including New Jersey, requires that the government, the prosecutor, must prove to a jury that a person charged with a crime is guilty of that crime "beyond a reasonable doubt." Good attorneys are there to ensure that the government not trample on the Constitution in the pursuit of a conviction, but to ensure that the accused have a fair trial before a jury of his or her peers. Contrary to popular belief, criminal defense attorneys do not represent "the guilty." Everyone is presumed to be innocent under our system of justice, and such presumption can only be overcome by a jury's determination of guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Under our Constitution, even if a person commits a crime, the government must release him or her if the jury finds that the government did not prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt. This is required by our Bill of Rights, written by Thomas Jefferson, and these Bill of Rights are the reasons why this nation continues to be free and democratic, rather than a totalitarian state. Otherwise, what would be the result be if there was no Constitution? No Trial? No Jury?
